DBT LifeSkills Training DBT is referred to as LifeSkills 101 because these are basic skills that all individuals need. They will help you to interact with yourself, your family, the environment, and society. Are you in need of intensive coping skills combined with daily strengthening and support? If so, then DBT LifeSkills Training has been developed for you. You may benefit from DBT LifeSkills Training if you are struggling with an inadequate sense of self, low self-esteem, emotional instability, unstable relationships, impulsive self-damaging behavior and/or suicidal behavior. From a mind, body, and spirit perspective untilizing a psychoeducational and life-coaching approach to teach you effective lifeskills. DBT LifeSkills Training is based on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which emphasizes the fundamental interrelatedness or wholeness of reality. As well, as incorporating the concepts of Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Helping You Gain Skills for Life (HUGS™). A life enrichment program focused on helping you build a life that you actually want to live by teaching you lifeskills to resolve challenges and crises, while simultaneously supporting your self-esteem and encouraging your positive and healthy choices. It is a skills building program, which focuses on helping you to indentify unhealthy behaviors that interfere with your activities of daily living. DBT LifeSkills Training provides you with tools and skills to handle the challenges and opportunities that occur in your life; thereby enhancing and enriching your life ... giving you an authentic life that you feel is worth living. __________________________________________________________ DBT LifeSkills Training ... The general goal of DBT Life Skills Training is to learn and develop skills in changing behavioral, emotional, and thinking patterns associated with problems in living, that is, those problems that are causing you anxiety, misery, pain, and distress. The focus is to decrease behaviors of interpersonal chaos, abrupt changes in emotions and moods, impulsiveness, and confusion about yourself, as well as cognitive uncertainty defined as the inability to recognize, understand, remember, or evaluate information appropriately for the situation. DBT LifeSkills Training focuses on behaviors to increase through lifeskills training in the following areas:
DBT LifeSkills Training is available In-Person, as well as via OnLine. If you live within the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area of Minnesota__In-Person DBT LifeSkills Training groups are available. Each module runs for 10 weeks, at a cost of $128 ($US) for each session. Most insurances are accepted, including Medicare and Medicaid (Medical Assistance). OnLine DBT LifeSkills Training is $640 ($US) for each module, includes a 150+ page manual valued at $75 ($US). The fee for OnLine DBT LifeSkills Training must be prepaid by submitting a check money order, or credit card. Currently insurance companies do not reimburse for online services. Groups for DBT LifeSkills Training often have long waiting lists, therefore DBT Launch was designed to help you connect to a DBT goup within in two weeks. DBT Launch is an introductory group (or individual session) meeting weekly for one hour--to assist you in getting acquainted with DBT LifeSkills and learn how they can begin to be implemented into your daily life ... you will be transferred to a DBT LifeSkills Training group, when an opening becomes available. DBT Launch has four primary purposes:
DBT Launch is only available on an in-person basis. Cost is $195 ($US) per session and covered by most insurances. E-mail for more information on DBT Launch __________________________________________________________ DBT The Family Component ... is designed for family members who want to learn more about DBT LifeSkills and have a willingness to support their family member who is currently participating in a DBT LifeSkills Training group. DBT The Family Component is a 6-week program. Group session will be held weekly for 1 1/2 hours, with the following objectives:
DBT The Family Component is only available on an in-person basis--on an as needed basis for families. Fee is $128 ($US) for each session and some insurances may provide fee reimbursement. It is a 12-week program based on the book The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook by Matthew McKay, Jeffrey C Wood, and Jeffrey Brantley. It can be completed on an individual basis ($195 [$US] per 1-hour) or group setting ($128 [$US] per session).
