Couples Personalized Assessment
Marriage is perhaps the most complex of human relationships. The process of joining two people in a relationship which is intended to last for a lifetime can involve great effort. Unfortunately, too often couples are not equipped to deal with the challenges they face in marriage.
It is now estimated that over half of all first marriages will end in divorce, with the average marriage lasting less than seven years. There are four types of couples ~ identified as vitalized, harmonious, traditional and conflicted. Which one are you? Research has shown by seeking out opportunities to make your relationship grow over time can improve your relationship skills and happiness as a couple.
Couples Personalized Assessment has the following values for couples:
Help increase partner awareness of both strength and potential growth areas.
Stimulate discussing concerning issues vital to your relationship.
Teach valuable communication and conflict resolution skills.
Function as a preventative tool to help you become aware of important issues before they turn into major problems.
The following assessments are personalized to meet your needs.
Preparing for Marriage is intended to help couples getting ready for marriage to realistically assess their own relationship. It is a preventive and primarily educational approach to helping couples evaluate their relationship. Couples will be able to:
Take stock of strength and growth areas that are present in your relationship.
Evaluate your level of idealism.
Explore important topics you might otherwise avoid.
Begin to develop communication and conflict resolution skills.
Enriching and Evaluating Marriage is designed for married couples seeking couple enrichment or counseling and wanting to learn more about their relationship. It is a useful tool for helping married couples assess relationship strength and growth areas and in developing plans for relationship growth.
Mature Age Transition Evaluation is designed for older couples (50 years+) panning to marry or facing other life transitions (retirement, relocations), intergenerational issues, and health issues.

No healing process is quick or easy. You have to dedicate yourselves to working on your marriage relationship. Some couples will improve as they take responsibility for their own behavior and build their relationship skills through the Couple Checkup process. Others may find they need additional help through marriage counseling.

THOUGHT TO PONDER
“Use whatever knowledge you have but see its limitations. Knowledge alone does not suffice; it has no heart. No amount of knowledge will nourish or sustain your spirit; it can never bring you ultimate happiness or peace. Life requires more than knowledge; it requires intense feeling and constant energy. Life demands right action if knowledge is to come alive.”
