Thoughts to Ponder ... Reflections of the Heart
Action
Dreams pass into the reality to action. From the actions stems the dream again; and this interdependence produces the highest form of living. ~Anais Nin
Emotions
Let's not forget that the little emotions are the great captains of our lives and we obey them without realizing it. ~Vincent VanGogh, 1889
The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in. ~ Morrie Schwartz
Fall/Autumn
The woods are full of fairies; the sea is full of fish; the trees are full of golden leaves; let's make an autumn wish. ~Anonymous
I cannot endure to waste anything as precious as autumn sunshine by staying in the house. So I spend all the daylight hours in the open air. ~Nathaniel Hawthorne
Memorial Day
Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service. Honoring all those men and women who gave their all to something bigger than themselves -- our military, our police and fire personal -- those who dedicated their lives to protect all of us from harms way. We see the cemeteries filled with flowers and flags ... as we each take a moment to reflect on our loved ones who have passed on and how our lives have been forever touched because of them ... From a headstone in Ireland, which reads "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."
New Year
May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful , and don't forget to make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself. ~Neil Gailman
Spring
It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it you want -- oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so! ~Mark Twain
No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow. ~Proverb
I think that no matter how old or infirm I may become, I will always plant a large garden in the spring. Who can resist the feelings of hope and joy that one gets from participating in nature's rebirth? ~Edward Giobbi
Summer
Summer is the time when one sheds one's tensions with one's clothes and the right kind of day is jeweled balm for the battered spirit. A few of those days and you can become drunk with the belief that all's right with the world. ~Ada Louise Huxtable
Winter
Every gardner knows that under the cloak of winter lies a miracle ... a seed waiting to sprout, a bulb opening to the light, a bud straining to unfurl. And the anticipation nurtures over dream. ~Barbara Winkler
THOUGHT TO PONDER
Without continual growth and
progress, such words as
improvement, achievement, and
success have no meaning.
