Signs of the Times™
Practicing mindfulness through the awareness of signs in everyday life! Reflecting on what is going on in our lives, communities, and country. An opportunity for you to have a "voice" in how you may be affected with the external events, which we often feel like we have no control ... adding to that feeling of powerlessness and hopelessness.
Have you seen a sign lately that reflects what may be going on in your life? It may relate to your culture, economic concerns, housing, jobs, family, children, war, health care, etc. It may be observed in a number of different ways ...
billboard "no one gets a free pass"
street sign "go slow there will be turns in the journey"
handwritten sign posted somewhere "garage sale"
or in any another way a person may need to express their need
"makes me wonder where I may be walking"
wrong way ... go back ... "for once I thought I was on the right path"
"ok ... now what do I do"
(as you can see it appears everything is a one way ... in opposite directions)
We are interested in hearing from you ...
Share your "signs" with us -- along with a short statement that describes what it means to you ... send it to Duane W Grande at granarch.1@hopeallianz.com
Off the Beaten Path ... I took this picture in the winter of 2006. The bright orange "Road Construction" sign is starkly contrasted by the winter brown and white. In the distance is a dirt road ... leading where? To me, this photo says, "There is a time to stop building, a time to get off the highway" We so often get stuck on a busy freeway where life is whizzing by at the speed of light and there is a sense of needing to continue building and moving in order to just keep up. So, from time to time, we need to put the road construction behind us,a nd turn off onto the road less traveled. Submitted by Batyah Grande (05/26/09)
